One of our goals is to share materials created and used by educators for teaching world music. These resources, drawn from diverse classrooms and approaches, are designed to complement and enrich the chapters and case studies found in the World Music Textbook. They are not exhaustive, but rather offer models, lesson plans, activities, and ideas that can inspire or guide instruction.
There is also a full sample course shell that utilizes the World Music Textbook. An instructor can link directly to these pages, copy and manipulate them to fit their needs, or make use of the available Canvas shell modules (coming soon!).
These are primarily intended for instructors and provide structured activities, discussion questions, assignments, and assessments. Some may be useful for students directly, serving as supplementary reading, listening, or viewing resources. Please note that these teaching materials do not undergo the same rigorous peer-review process as the textbook chapters themselves. If you would like to share your own teaching resources, suggest improvements, report an issue, or find any broken links, please email the editors.
